What is a home to you? For most of us a home is the place we feel safe, protected and at peace with the world and even ourselves. That is why we attach so much importance on our house, our home. Gone were the days, if they ever existed at at all, homes were just a place to rest your head. We attach all kinds of emotional and spiritual connotations to our homes. We will always have to juggle our needs and wants. Knowing what our needs and wants are is one of the secrets of the juggling act life is. Chose a house that you can afford. Make sure you have the best mortgage you can get. If you’re not sure if you have it or not, print our your credit report and ask for quotes for mortgage swaps to at least three companies. If you have been paying your installments and have an okey credit score it is very likely you will get a discount on your mortgage.

If your line of work is seasonal or erratic when it comes to income, it might be a good idea to purchase a mortgage insurance. They are not cheap but they are worth their weight in gold if you lose your job or get really sick or injured. Remember, protect what is important for you. Prioritize, decide what matters and protect it.
